Since winter doesn’t seem to be leaving any time soon, let’s talk about moisturizers.

I’m sure we can all agree that dry skin is a source of frustration that we all suffer through from time to time, and it’s just so fucking unnecessary on every level.

Now, when it comes to moisturizers, it’s important to understand that moisturizers do more than just moisturize, and not only moisturizers will moisturize.
Makes sense? Great.

Now that that’s established, you won’t wonder why this list of moisturizers contains non-moisturizers, yet each of the products are the most amazing moisturizing products I’ve ever laid my hands on.
Moisturizer or not.

These are the products that have gotten my skin through years of the hell that is Fashion Week, long winters at the North Pole (long story), and overly stressful management jobs that include 18 hour days of cigarettes, alcohol and crying under the desk.

Yet somehow, my skin has never looked better.

So let’s dive in, shall we?

#1 Kiehl’s Super Multi-corrective Cream
Obviously we’ll be starting out with the holy grail of grails.

If you’re not familiar with Kiehl’s I recommend you try it out, as it’s one of the best brands out there. Everything is made from unique formulas that contain both natural and chemical ingredients, making their products both effective and mild for your skin.

Their Super Multi-Corrective Cream is made with Beech Tree Extract, Jasmonic and Hyaluronic Acids, and it visibly lifts, firms and retexturizes your skin.

I can tell you that within a few days of using this, your skin will be noticably more hydrated to the point where you won’t need to use it every day, which is honestly “baffling” for lack of another british word.

#2 Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-replenishing Hydrator

Whooohh, this shit will literally change your life.

You know how the most annoying thing about moisturizers is how it sticks on your skin afterwards and makes it impossible to create a matte makeup look on top?
Well, not with the Clinique Moisture Surge.

This moisturizer has a bizarre consistency that is light, slightly see-through and gel-like, and I don’t know how the fuck they do it, but it seeps straight into your skin and leaves a matte, hydrated look without giving off any shine after.

It’s bizarre, I don’t understand, but I’ve also decided to stop questioning and just enjoy this miracle for what it is.

#3 Incognito Beard Oil (Yes, you heard me)

Ok, this may sound weird, but hear me out.

Long story short, but back in January I ended up staying a few days at a hot, bearded mans place with no access to moisturizer, and considering the dry winter air, I decided to put beard oil on my face in an act of complete desperation.

This specific beard oil is made from a mixture of Almond Oil, Argan Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil and Jojoba Oil – needless to say, it was fucking magical.

It’s made in Norway and probably meant for Vikings or something, which I’m sure is why it’s so insanely hydrating. More than that, since it’s meant for men, it doesn’t contain any unnecessary fragants or weird shit that will bother your skin, so it’s really just a netrual-ass moisturizing oil that will make your skin glow for days after just one use.

#4 Kiehl’s Concentrate Serums

Normally you’d use a serum before or after your moisturizer, but I swear to God, these serums from Kiehl’s work just fine on their own. I honestly recommend both the daytime and the nightime version equally, as you can interchange them depending on your mood and whatever your fragrance of choice is for the day.

The Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate is described as
“A revitalizing blend of ginger root, sunflower and tamanu oils to help correct the visible appearance of skin fatigue.”

Supposedly it protects your skin from shit like car exhaust and crap air quality, so it creates a barrier of vitamins between your skin and the rest of the world.

Then there’s the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, which is
“A replenishing elixir of pure essential oils and distilled botanicals to visibly restore the appearance of skin by morning.”

Whatever that means.
All I can say is your skin literally will feel different after just one night of use. It just becomes thicker, firmer, happier, somehow.
It’s hard to put into words, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it cleansed your chakras for you.
It just works.

#5 Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream

This is probably the most mind-blowing product of them all, for the simple reason that it just never fucking ends.
I bought a tub of this years ago and still have barely made a dent despite applying it pretty much every day.

This moisturizer is the typical “everyday cream” that should honestly be a staple for anyone with skin, regardless of type. It’s a 24-hour hydrating formula with extracts from desert plants, and although I don’t really care which plants, I suspect cacti.

Basically it’s the kind of moisturizer that you can use even if your skin isn’t too dry, yet you still want to pamper the living shit out of it.

It’s the only moisturizer I ever brought to Fashion Week, as it’s mild and has a cooling effect, which is perfect for when the directors decide to remove and reapply your makeup 17 times before a show only to leave you crying in pain at midnight at a bus station because it hurts to blink.

Luckily, Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream always has your back.
